Pride and Prejudice Auditions

Ten Bucks Theatre Company cordially invites you to auditions for our February 2026 production of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, adapted by Jon Jory (based on the novel by Jane Austen) and directed by Natalie Lisnet. Auditions will be held in-person Friday, November 21 from 6-9 PM and Saturday, November 22 from 1-4 PM in Hauck Auditorium, located on Belgrade Road on the UMaine campus in Orono between the Memorial Union and the Class of 1944 Hall (https://tinyurl.com/3b28p4av). Auditioners will be cold reading from provided scenes; no prepared monologues needed. Anyone who is unable to attend in person can email info@tenbuckstheatre.org to set up a virtual audition time. Show dates: February 12-14, 19-21 at 7:00 PM February 15 and 22 at 2:00 PM Show description: All of the wit and romance of Jane Austen’s classic 1813 novel come to life in this refreshingly fast-paced and engaging new adaptation. Finding a husband is hardly Elizabeth Bennet’s most urgent priority. But with four sisters, an overzealous match-making mother, and a string of unsuitable suitors, it’s difficult to escape the subject. When the independent-minded Elizabeth meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy, she is determined to not let her feelings triumph over her own good sense — but the truth turns out to be slipperier than it seems. In a society where subtle snubs and deceit proliferate, is it possible for Elizabeth and Darcy to look beyond his pride and her prejudice, and to make the best match of all? Speaking roles include: – Elizabeth Bennet – Jane Bennet – Mary Bennet – Kitty Bennet – Lydia Bennet – Mr. Bennet – Mrs. Bennet – Mr. Darcy – Mr. Bingley – Colonel Fitzwilliam – Charlotte Lucas – Sir William Lucas – Mr. Collins – Mr. Gardiner – Miss Bingley – Mrs. Gardiner – George Wickham – Lady Catherine De Bourgh – Georgianna Darcy – Housekeeper Casting actors ages 16+. Please note: All actors under 18 years of age at the time of the audition and production dates will require written permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate. Some roles will be double casted. For any questions, email info@tenbuckstheatre.org. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is presented in arrangement with Playscripts, Inc., a Concord Theatricals company. Ten Bucks Theatre is committed to diversity and is open to all ethnicities and gender identities. Please do not let suggested ages, genders, or relationships with other characters prevent you from auditioning.
